big creek for the most part is what i call a bush whacking river, jams change everytime the water goes up or down, but if your into a scienic , peacefull lazy float on a remote river , its great, always lots of wildlife....beaver , deer , turkeys, birds in big numbers come fall time the lower you go towards longpoint....If this river is canoed in the summer months you will get muddy, you will have a canoe full of spiders, not to mention branches and leaves slapping you , but all in all, theres nothing like it..enjoy!

We did Big Creek on Oct.2,2004.We put in at the bridge on hi-way 59 and took out at Rowan Mills C.A.The water levels were great. However there were at least 15 logjams that required serious maneuvering or a lift-over.
