Route Description
Access to Put-In Information:

There is a lodge on the north end of Wathaman Lake. There is what looks like an abandoned airstrip nearby. We launched there. This trip has about the best shuttle of any extended trip in Northern Saskatchewan.

Technical Guide:

Start on Wathaman or Davies Lake, go up the Wathaman river portage into Foster Lake, then portage north through a series of puddles into the Geike River, then down the Geike River.

Special Comments:

Going up the Wathaman requires a LOT of tracking. We had one day that we walked out of camp in the morning, and walked in at night, and maybe paddled a km total. I would suggest that this is NOT a good route for late summer.

Almost all of the rapids on the Geike can be shot, but some of them you may want to carry your gear. Portages are basically moose trails.

Sorry about the lack of details, it's been 20 years.
