My son and I put in on Friday and left today. First time in to Noganosh and it is a great area. Fishing is great too :)

One note: a beaver dam has blown out on Smoky Creek, so one area leading up to the final 75 M portage is VERY low. It is still passable by canoe but the final 50 metres is a bit tricky, particularly if you don't want to land in waist deep mud! Any lower would be almost impossible short of bushwacking a bunch of gear and a canoe for a bit....

I'll be heading back into smoky in 2011. Anyone know if the dam was rebuilt in 2010? I have not made a trip into there since August 2009.

I assume you mean the one leading to Moose Lake? Seemed in pretty good shape when we were there last year. Water levels weren't a problem anyway.

Nah Wot, I think he's talking about beaver dam on Smokey Creek, it blew out last year and turned Smokey Creek into a bit of a slog.
Water levels are back to normal.
