I bought myself a new action camera...not because I really needed another action camera but the main reason I purchased this camera is because it comes with a really useful Solar Charger. This charger is great for charging my phone, my light and my batteries for my other cameras, and I got it, and the action camera for less than I would have paid for a solar charger alone. The camera is not great - it's adequate, but the solar charger really rocks!

Buying the action cam for the included solar charger... a microcosm for several themes :)

I bought the Apeman A80 last winter on Amazon after extensive research, thinking I could outsmart GoPro and save $500 versus their latest model. It was a pathetic device with an interface that resembled my first mp3 player. Quickly returned it and bought the Hero6. Aside from some bugginess that causes it to freeze up once in a while, it's been worth every penny.

Solar charger looks nice though.

Solar charger I'd just buy a solar charger. The one I have is compact but folds out fairly big, and can charge a small external battery in 2-3 hours of strong sunlight. This was about $80 when I bought it and worth every penny. Now it is only $35!
