Paddling Oat Cakes

Ingredients:
½ tsp baking soda
1 c boiling water
1c white sugar
2 c rolled oats
2 c flour
1tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
2 c bran
1 ¼ c shortening

Instructions:
Judy’s Oat Cakes Mix together ½ tsp baking soda 1 c boiling water let cool Mix together 1c white sugar 2 c rolled oats 2 c flour 1tsp baking powder 1 tsp salt 2 c bran cut in 1 ¼ c shortening Add water and soda mixture Roll out thin, cut into desired shapes and bake at 400 F for 10 min. Should be sticky, but not wet.
