The maze of islands between Birch Island and Killarney Provincial Park can make navigation confusing. Keep track of your position on the topo map carefully. The long portage on this trip (3160 m) between Threenarrows and Killarney is not as difficult as it might seem. It has a steep section at the beginning and end, but the centre is quite level
