Did this same route with 3 friends in August of 2003. Rather than stay on Booth Lake (too busy), we took McCarthy creek into Mole Lake and then portaged into Godda Lake (had the whole lake to ourselves). We then went back the way we came (McCarthy Creek, Booth, Kitty) and went up to Shirley Lake for the 2nd night.

Comments:

The campsites on the north side of Booth after you enter from the east all seem to be on an old railway bed or road. I found it a little disappointing to pitch my tent on what looked like a road.

The last site on the north before the lake narrows has a great beach.
