Start at Mercer Lake (public access east of Monetville)
The access is at UTM 544125 - shown on the East Section of the
French River Prov. Park Map
East through Mercer Lake and Hall River
Several liftovers at beaver dams
P 18 m L around a small rapid
East to Little Chaudiere Dam
P 27 m R around dam
South, then southeast on the Little French
Turn Left on the Little French to Five Finger Rapids
P 270 m R around the rapids
West through Wolsley Bay
Under bridge
Northwest up Wolsley River
River `thins out` low water and beaver dams to lift over
(lots of private property in this section)
Under Hwy 64 bridge southwest of Monetville
North through Bear Lake
P 207 m to small unnamed lake
P 525 m to Deer Bay
North for about 8 km through a narrow channel to main
body of Deer Bay
East to West Bay of Lake Nipissing
East along south shore of Nipissing to area around Sandy Island
South then southwest on upper French
West on the Little French
Continue west past Free-Flow Channel
West on Hall River
West through Mercer Lake to finish

Be extremely careful about travel on Lake Nipissing. The lake is very shallow, and even moderate winds can generate large waves.
