Howdy Folks, been a while since I ve been on here. hope all is well.

Currently my girlfriend and I are in the preliminary stages of planning a long trip. As part of this trip we are researching the logistics of paddling the Churchill River from the falls - Goose Bay. We understand and are experienced in white water and wilderness paddling.

But the basics, are there outfitters in Goose bay, or a joint venture between GB and Churchill Falls were we might be able to rent a canoe?
We understnd the trip is about 300km, a number of portages (some optional, some not), about 2 weeks depending on weather. Late spring, early weather.

Any information would be greatly appreciated, recent trip reports, contacts etc.

thank you very much for your help.

You have the wrong province; the Churchill is in Sask. :D

Many of the locals in Lab., and the expats here and there, prefer to call it the Grand River. That other name came from the colonialists on the Avalon Penn. Here is a site that might be of use:
http://www.grandriverkeeperlabrador.ca/index.html
at the bottom of their 'links' page there is a trip report.

My wife and I are also considering the Churchill this summer are are looking for paddling partners. We are thinking of paddling Aug 7 to 20 or so. Let me know if you are interested in paddling it with us.

Jonathan.
