does anyone have any helpful info on the waterway that dumps into grand lake just above shawn parks camp on grand lake on newfoundland island? cords are aprox. 48* 43' n 57* 53' w. I looked at toporama and searched maptown for a name. and come up emty. it seems to cut through a canyon parallel to the lake. the steam is most likely seasonal but it did catch my eye.
thanks, trevor

If you're referring to the one that enters the lake at 48.708857, -57.867255, topo maps show it dropping from about 350 m to 110 m (so 240 m) over a distance of about 1500 m.
The whole lake appears to be surrounded by steep banks/cliffs except at the north end.
Have you ever paddled there?

no that is not the stream. the one in question enters at the tip of lake to the south, and follows the entire lake in a meander to the north starting in several ponds and marsh areas. it goes thru a canyon the whole length of grand lake. at shawn parks camp ? there are two streams that enter on either side of the peninsula. one is called grand lake brook the other is___?___. that is the one in question.
also I have not paddled in the area.
I stumbled on it and I am the type that always wonders what is around the corner. so to speak. little traveled places intique me.
