We are off to Castlegar to visit our grandchild and we want to go on a canoe trip for a few nights.

Slocan Lake looks nice but people warn of the crosswinds. Christina Lake looks full of boats. South Arrow Lakes look awful.

Any experience, suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

Margaret

Hey Margaret, go for Slocan! Stay close to shore and enjoy whatever comes at you. Probably not too many engine boats and the area is incredible.

Another might be Whatshan (North of Faquier on the West side of L Arrow Lk.).

Upper Christina might not be to bad on the weekdays.

Have fun.

Thanks Ted ( i think that is your name),

Yes, we will do something at Slocan Lake. Looks like nice beaches, lots of local outfits willing to shuttle us. At the Southern end of the lake we will be able to do an 8 km float on the Slocan River to Lemon Creek.
