Well, we finally have enough snow to ski (1 1/2'), so today the skiis came out.

Luckily, we live right beside an outdoor recreation fun park (honestly, that's the best way to describe it). A short 1.5km road ski to the Kager Lk. trail, then 3 kms around the lake. A balmy -3C, the layers started coming off real quick.

Seeing as it's so nice, I thought I'd squeeze in a paddle on Tchesinkut Lk.

Used my new firebox, and can't believe how long I went without. It's great to have a portable heat source. It was a windy -2C, but being tucked out of the wind and the stove directed at me, it was as hot as I wanted it. Now I just have to start cooking some stuff up.
Of course I had a great tailwind on the way out, but a stiff headwind on the way back, except for the last 30 minutes.

Time to leave. :(

Mental Note: Don't let tie down ropes get wet. Frozen knots are nasty!

We've been skiing since the last of Oct -16 this AM the canoe is under quite a bit of snow.

Hugh, I was told to respond... just kidding!

I'm lucky, my wife comes with most of the time, just today was a one activity day for her.

Guess who's not going to miss another paddle now?...
