I'm planning at trip on the Dease River during late August/early September.
We will just have one car so I am looking for some info on getting a shuttle from Lower Post back to Dease Lake.
Thanks!

We will be passing by. Not a big help to you as our dates are not firm but if we see a hitchhiker with a paddle we will have room. We will be south bound. We actually will turn on 37 from Watson Lake coming back from Alaska but if as time gets closer you still need a ride we will be able to get on line and make that small detour,

Thanks littleredcanoe! I'll get in touch if I still haven't figured out a ride as we confirm our dates.

emorris, I no longer have any contacts at Lower Post. I would not recommend leaving a car there. However, the car repair place in Watson Lake can store your car for a fee. The last time I paddled the Dease was 10 years ago. I have hitched from Lower Post to Watson Lake, and also from French Creek pull out to Watson Lake. The Dease is a wonderful trip. Make sure you stop and pay homage to Warburton Pike at Porter Landing on Dease Lake. The monument his friends made for him after his death, sits to the west in a grassy area, near where a rough track leads down to the cabins. PM me for more info.

Emorris, wondering if you did this trip and if so how your logistics worked out? Planning a trip on the Dease in late July and have the same question as we will have only one vehicle as well. Anyone else with updated information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated as well!
Cheers!
