Has anyone portaged into Keigat Creek from Birch Lake? This is NE of Red Lake between Swain Post and Slate Falls.

Canoe Atlas of the Little North shows a confirmed 840m portage and a presumed 1km port. Satellite shows much a mucky 2.5km bog slog that sleds take instead of the traditional portage. The area around Keigat Creek burned since the authors paddled through (70's and 90's), we're prepared for the slog, but if anyone has Intel on the old portages, it would help at least in the planning process.

We're planning on going down the Shabumeni River, up the Cat and down the Throat to Berens River. I recall some old posts about those who travelled the Throat. Information on that would be appreciated if possible.

Will post a Map and Video once complete.
