Finally got out to do my first overnight trip of the year last weekend! Thank you, Doug, for letting us out before the weekend!

It was an incredible 3-day trip beginning on Healey Lake in the Georgian Bay cottage country area, through a series of small lakes down to the Moon River and back around from Moon River Bay on Georgian Bay back into Healey.

A huge shout-out and thank you to Tearknee. (Not sure how you guys managed that mammoth second day!) Much of the info. for the route came from her report of the same route from exactly 5 years ago to the day of my own departure, along with Hap Wilson's guidebook and the Unlostify Massasauga Map (highly recommended and available for purchase at unlostify.com)

I could use a lot of superlatives to describe the Lower Moon, but I'll let the photos in the attached report do that.

Nice trip report! Small world also. I am fairly certain we saw each other as you were loading your canoe and leaving. I was helping a lady friend with her trailer and she was picking me up on her boat.

I wasn't aware of this loop or route as I thought it was all cottage country. Something new for me to explore. Cheers!

Looks like an awesome solo trip. Nice weather too. Great write up and photos.
