7/18 put in Brightsand, great weather the rain just ended from talking with area people, who said they have had a day and one half of summer so far. Entered at km point 102 and headed downstream, original intent was to go to Hard Dog Lake, but review of Google maps indicated that area had burned and decided to head for Mountinary and Gosling. While fishing for dinner caught many pike and then caught a muskie about 30 inches or 90 cm, the only fish that looks like a pike but is green. Have been fishing this area for 30 years and had not caught one before, Anyone else have info on muskies in the Brightsand? Headed into Rude Lake on our way to Mountinary and encountered wind and thunderstorms. Found a good campsite and ended up staying there for 3 nights because of the weather. Rude Lake is an interesting Lake as it had many sand beaches and bull rush flats. The fishing was good. There are 3 great campsites close together that would be great for anyone. While there noticed that over the years the kinds of birds seen has changed. Years ago it was just ravens and eagles, lately we have seen vultures, crows and this year grackles(blackbirds). Has anyone else notices the chane?
