Here is a detailed narrative of a 5-day solo loop beginning on Flack Lake in the Algoma Highlands in early July 2021. Gorgeous area and highly recommended. I hope you enjoy the report.

Wonderful writeup of this trip! I agree 100% : the first 3 portages are brutal - rocky and hilly at the best of times. At least you can camp after the first one on Bruce L. The other two total almost 2 km with barely a 50m paddle at halfway point on Olympis L. ! Found myself wishing there was a campsite at Olympus.

Upper Mace is one of the most beutiful places I've been. Was fortunate to catch a full moon rise while camped on the big beach site. Unforgettable. Was mid-Sept. and I saw no one for the enitire trip. Really cold nights.
