I had the opportunity of paddling the Bow from Ghost Dam to Cochrane last Saturday. There was no ice at all on the river and it was almost too hot. The season is now open!!

Hi rob,I think ghost to cochrane is like the kan,with the dam and regular releases it never really freezes up.yes sat was a great day to be out little different this week though,but its comin

Takign the C-train over the river this morning (Sunday April 05), there was an ice bridge downstream of the c-train bridge although it was clear when I wetn back at 5:30PM...
It may be a bit early to declare the season open just yet.

hi stencil sorry for taking so long to get back. yes i am involved in wood canvas and stitch and glue boat building not so much wood canvas as im just in the middle of rebuilding a 60 yr old peter borough,first time with wood/canvas.no not a lot of knowledge but lots of ideas about info and contacts,the wood canoe heritage association is a great site with lots of info and great people ready to help with all things canoe related.locally undercurrents has a guy that fixes wood canvas. pm me or ask on here if you want more specifics or want to meet and exchange ideas
