Hi Folks,
Starting to think about our annual fall guys' trip. The Sturgeon-Weir is on my list, but the logistics of this one are a bit tough in that it's a lot of shuttling for the length of the trip. Anyone here have insight on the most cost and/or time effective approach? Probably running just the lower Sturgeon Weir starting at Denare Beach or the south end of Amisk, but maybe starting at Maligne Lake. Have you used an outfitter to do the shuttle for you?

I'm just gathering ideas at this point.

Cheers,
Bryan

Did you figure something out yet?

I love that river trip -- a historical route.

Probably hiring Jim at Sturgeon Landing Outfitters to run the shuttle for us. Due to a severe lack of time we're just planning on running the lower section, starting at Denare and heading down to Sturgeon Landing.

We have 4 days on the water. That should give us a day to get most of the way south on Amisk, plus a day spent camped at Rat Rapids to fish & play.

Does that seem reasonable? Do you have any insight into running it at these levels? Currently it's just below 60 cms and dropping slowly. At these higher flows, are the features going to be washed out or are we going to be zipping downriver much more quickly than I'm expecting?
