Hi folks,
We had a great symposium with good attendance throughout the day despite the major snowstorm. I was able to meet a couple of fellow CCRs, though I didn't really get to chat with you. The event brought together many paddlers of all sorts from all over. We had some great presentations and demonstrations. It was also one of the hardest days of my life.

We found out just before the start of the symposium that our good friend, and member of the organizing committee, Vinessa Currie, was killed in a car crash on her way to Saskatoon for the event.

You can read more of my sentiments here on the SPS website: https://sites.google.com/a/saskpaddling ... ry-vinessa

If you wish to contribute to helping her family, there is a GoFundMe campaign started http://www.gofundme.com/syv7tc and there is a trust account in memory of Vinessa set up at the CIBC in Maidstone, donations to that account can be made at any CIBC branch with the transit/account #00378/72-70933.

i was there in the morning. I especially enjoyed the opening speaker's history lesson. I also partook in the free compass intro event there. Nice to be in a place with likeminded outdoors people.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. We are now working to figure out what future events are going to look like.
Cheers,
Bryan
