I just stumbled onto this commercial. This is probably the best place to share it.

Great news.

We need to inspire others to get out, paddle, and protect nature.

Saskatchewan offers prime canoe tripping routes.

About a year ago there was a calling making the rounds among the Saskatchewan paddling circles looking for people to appear in a series of ads. (I just searched my email because I know it's in there somewhere.) I declined to apply because my family & I didn't fit the stated criteria of young & attractive. They were quite specific on what they wanted for each of the series of ads. There were different ages/criteria for different videos.

Here is another from the series:

They are really well done.

These videos were just released to the public within the last couple of weeks so I'm not sure what icebreaker means when he says it's been around facebook for a while.

Cheers,
Bryan

Hah, figures that I'd find it right after posting. :)

I'm too old, not fit enough, and not attractive enough. Oh well, as long as they are doing a good job of showing off how awesome our northern paddling is.

I love it.

I think it's smart to put the call out for attractive people. I wonder how many stand up paddleboards have been sold by putting women in bikinis in ads (probably almost all that have been sold).

Plus it's nice knowing I won't ever have to be in a commercial...

Know what you mean about not meeting the attractiveness standards. The guy looking back at me from the mirror today is definitely not the person I remember from 20 years ago.

By "it's been around Facebook for awhile", I was thinking in terms of weeks rather than months or years.

Edit: Went back to my FB page and checked the date that I first saw this ad. It was actually March 2, 2016; so almost 2 weeks ago (LOL). I guess that I am so used to having time go ripping past me that this seemed like much longer ago.

... and maybe that's why we look like we do, eh ice-breaker. ;) I thought you meant "a while" in a much longer sense. Kinda like how I've been around for "a while".

Seriously, I can see a 3rd ad fitting perfectly with this series. A few fit healthy 60 year olds post-kids enjoying a similar northern experience. It would appeal to a different demographic, and some of the fittest, healthiest, people I know are post-kids, finally pursuing all the exciting stuff that I want to do. Also, they often have a bit of money to spend on their adventures. Maybe this 3rd video could feature a fly-in experience. Hmmm, maybe I should pitch that idea to the connections I have with Sask Tourism. Except that I wouldn't qualify for that one, either.
