Hey Alschool, where the heck do we start. Suffice it to say, if you're out this way you need to give us sask boys a call.

You could always paddle the churchill as it is definately a popular destination, but there's plenty more than that. Also, depends on how far from Regina you want to be driving. But my impression is that is not an object. At any rate, you've likely heard this before, but two books that are a good start are as follows:

Canoeing the Churchill (sid robinson and greg marchildon)
http://www.mcnallyrobinson.com/book_det ... 0889771480

Northern Saskatchewan Canoe Trips (laurel archer)
http://www.mcnallyrobinson.com/book_det ... 1550463691

First one is a great resource for the churchill, and the second gives you a nice overall of 15 rivers. Of course, there's plenty more rivers than just 15. That canoe routes page that joven forwarded is good too, but doesn't always give you a great idea of 'overall trip deadliness'. At any rate, you pretty much can't go wrong if you drive up to the La Ronge/churchill basin, with many good trips to choose from in that area.

Of course, we also like to throw our local outfitter business whenever we can. Ric Driediger of Churchill River Canoe Outfitters is one of the best resources for canoeing in Northern Saskatchewan and beyond.

but, as mentioned ealier, tell us what you're looking for, and we'll tailor you something.

cheers
