Your welcome, Larry. Here's a new read for canoeists that is hot off the presses: http://books.mcgraw-hill.com/cgi-bin/pbg/0071390901.html Up the Creek: True Stories of Canoeists in Trouble. Doug McGown, the editor and major contributor, is a great canoeist, an authority on river rescue, and generally a really nice person. This book has stories from Canadian rivers, and there are some pieces from n. SK rivers too -- the Churchill, Foster, Wathaman and Geikie (a bear encounter at the confluence of the Wheeler). The point of the book is to reflect on lessons to be learned from not so good experiences. Mistakes can be good teachers when recognized!

Cheers, Laurel
