Considering a charter flight from either northern Manitoba or northern Saskatchewan to Thelon River. This would save us driving all the way to Yellowknive or Fort Smith from Western Ontario.
Anybody have any ideas on this. Would appreciate your opinions and help.

'Points North Air', will not be flying out of the Points North Air Base this summer.

'Osprey Wings' will be flying out of Points North this summer. They have taken over. They will have a Beaver and a Turbo Otter there this summer.

You can make bookings with Alison Thompson in La Ronge at 425 3971. They will have someone up at Points North taking bookings - they just don't yet.

The phone number for their airbase in Missinipe is 306-635-2112.

RE: trip to Thelon.

If it is a one canoe adventure consider driving to Stony Rapids then charter Northern Dene Air's Piston Beaver (way cheaper than any Turbine.) Get then to drop you at the south end of Vermette Lake and follow the Elk River to the Thelon. See my trip at http://www.out-there.com/BL.htm for deatails.

Talk to Andy at NDA at 306-439-2020. He can get you a price. Jason (the Beaver pilot has dropped me off twice at Vermette so he will know all about it).

Maybe see you in Stony. Lynda and I are off from Stony to Selwyn then down the Dubawnt to Carey Lake. Portage over to Angikuni and follow the Kazan to Baker. See you in Baker for a coke and pizza... SADLY no beer there.

Our trip maps is up at www.townoflaronge.ca

Want more information call me at 306-425-2858
