Hi all,
I am looking to paddle the Bloodvein River from Red Lake, Ont. We will take 15 days to reach Matheson Island. Does anyone have recommendations for a good flight charter company in Matheson Island?
Thank you
Judith

Hey Judith,
Good to hear you are looking to paddle the Bloodvein. We routinely run flights from Bloodvein Village as well as Pine Dock for our clients finishing the Bloodvein River. We have Cessna's, Beavers and Turbine Otters to do the work.
Drop us a line at 807-727-9797 or 807-728-0803 or email or PM on this site works as well.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

There is an outfit out of Pine Dock too...Kitchi charters. The website is kitchiisland.com.
They are using a DH Beaver so should be able to take external loads.

Judith,
Did you get on the Bloodvein River this season and who's services did you use for your flight?

We just got back from running the Berens River. For a while we were contemplating doing the Bloovein after one of our group had health issues. I spoke with Kitchi charters out of Pine Dock. I believe they are your best bet. They take outside loads and will also shuttle your car to Matheson Island where the ferry docks. Give them call they are really nice. You can also rent a cabin(s) from them. The cabins located in Pine Dock a few hundred meters from the departure dock. We used formerly Vamair to do the Berens but we were restricted to Packcanoes and had to land on run ways (Little Grand Rapids and Berens Village). We saved a lots of money but had to live within the restrictions.
Good luck.

Thanks for the info. My plans for the Bloodvein fell through, how disappointing, but I'll get there yet. Will check out Kitchi air.
Later Laura
