Just came home from as amazing trip on the Seal River. I will soon post pictures and some writings on our travels. Stay tuned for that. In the meantime, I wanted to pass along some thanks and organizational information to other folks.

Car Shuttle: The fine folks at the Churchill River Lodge shuttled our cars from our put-in in Leaf Rapids to the Thompson airport for a very fair price. They even had the kindness to leave some pictures of our first strokes on the water in the car. Incredible people. Thanks Marion and Ken!

Pull-out: We chartered a float plane from Wings over Kississing to fly us from the mouth of the river to Churchill. This option was $50 cheaper per person than the boat pick-up, which we'd heard was the only game in town. The fine folks at the Seal River Lodge welcomed us to their in-land lake, helped shuttle our gear and welcomed us in for coffee and some food, and all in all treated us with incredible hospitality.

Motel in Churchill : We stayed at the Bear Country Inn, and the owners, Sheldon and Michelle, treated us like gold. After hearing we came in off the trail long after the restaurants were closed, Sheldon cooked up a pot of delicious moose bolognese sauce for the gang. Michelle also ran our gear to the train the next day as well.

More amazing people we met along the way:

Much thanks to Bill, Roy and Randal from Southern Indian Lake. We met them out on the water. They set a net at night for us and arrived at our camp site the next morning with a bag of fresh pickerel fillets that lasted our group of eight for three meals. Unbelievable hospitality.

Much thanks to all the hunters, fishermen, trappers and folks on the land who were happy to pass on some of their knowledge to us. This includes Mike, Martin and Kyle from Tadoule, John on Southern Indian, Matt and Grant from Churchill and a few other Churchill guys whose names I sadly can't remember (after a great night out on the town).
