Hello,

I live in Fredericton and am interested in finding some remote lakes and rivers within a two hour drive from F'ton. I've been around the North, Grand, Spednic Lakes area along with the more popular lakes near F'ton (Grand, French, Harvey, George, etc). I'm looking for a lake or river inaccessible by boat (you need to portage to get to it) and civilizations is a far distance away. I haven't found any remote lakes or rivers in NB and would love to find some hidden gems in the province.

Thanks

Get a map or google earth -- there are many that are pretty tough to get at around Magadauvic which is only half an hour from you

Go to 5th Lake above McAdam -- I did it and you cannot get much more remote -- about 6 miles if you go completely around it -- very very quiet -- about 10 miles of dirt road before you get to it.
