I am looking for a few canoeists for the Anderson River to create a group of 6 this summer. You need about 40 days including travel and good tripping skills. The Anderson is a remote river with lots of wildlife, some intermediate white-water and a few portages. It travels over tundra for 1000km from Colville Lake to the Beaufort Sea, ending in a well-know bird sanctuary. We will complete the trip by paddling through coastal lakes all the way to Inuvik. Cost for flights from Toronto is $1200 if you have points or $2000 without them). Please e-mail me at
iva.kinclova@gmail.com if interested.
Also, I am wondering about an alternative access from the coastal lakes to the Dempster Hwy. It seems like the route Sitidgi Lake to the Dempster is hard and muddy. Has anyone gone to the hwy in a different way?
