View topic - Hornby cabin - GPS co-ordinates

Hi,

Does anyone have GPS co-ordinates for Hornby cabin on the Thelon. Last time I was there we found Hornby Point and spent 2 hours looking for the cabin and we didnt find it.

I'll check my 2004 trip info and see if I noted the coordinates. May take a while to locate cabin as it's easy to overshoot the location if you don't have the coordinates. The river narrows at that point and you will be moving fast. There is a small stream/river that enters the Thelon on the right hand side going downstream just past the cabin. If you get to that feeder stream then you have past the cabin by a hundred meters (memory recollection) or so.

I hope I don't come across as a jerk but I dislike seeing GPS coordinates for this type of thing put on the web. Part of the fun is having to do research and searching once on site.

I like knowing I missed some things on a trip.

Doesn't have GPS that I recall, but I think David Pelly's book, Thelon: A River Sanctuary, has a map showing the Hornby cabin upstream of the Point with some details about the distance and the spot.
