I'm not sure I'm following you.

Are you trying to hotlink a photo that is on a photo-hosting site?

Or are you trying to upload an attachment?

You need to subscribe to a free photo hosting web site like SmugMug, Flicker or Photobucket. Follow the steps and then "upload" your photos onto that site. When you want us to see one, just go to the "image code" box and copy the url (web address) of that particular photo into the text box you are posting into. This creates a direct link to your photo hosting account and the rest is magic - it just automatically appears in the post you submit.

There is no limit to the file size you can link to, but the image size needs to be changed to a size that doesn't engorge the forum page. A maximum of 800 pixels across is a good size to display your photos on a message board like MYCCR.

I've taken a look, and it sounds like you're trying to upload an attachment (256kb max).

Make sure the photo you're trying to upload is reduced in size first. No larger than 800 x 650 pixels is a good bet.

Then the attachment procedure should go much more smoothly.

*note that there is a maximum of 3 attachments per post allowed.*

Is it possible to upload from Flicker?

I seem to remember that there was a problem with that in the past.

Thanks.

There have been problems with each of the more popular sites, at one time or another, and in one way or another. It's usually a matter of figuring out which url to use.

I think that pbase might not allow hotlinking, though I'm not sure.

But from what I can tell, the OP is trying to use the attachment function here in the forums. Its limit is 256 kb, which he mentioned in his post, so that's what I'm basing my assumption.
