[quote="carcassonne"]I'm nowhere near a professional, so I'm looking forward for consumer grade new Sanyo VPC CA-100. 14 megapixels and films at 1920 × 1080. I currently use the predecessor to the CA-100.

I have been reading a what is available (not much to date) on the CA 100 and it does sound like it is an improvement on the Previous VPC E2. But mounting the vertical format camera might be difficult (I couldn't identify a mounting point)

The Sanyo VPC C100 was released in Japan in June 2010 with no indication when it will migrate to North America.

I have also been looking at the Sanyo VPC WH1 which would be easier to mount - but it's only a 720p. it does have a 30x zoom.

I am very glad to hear of your positive experience with the CA100's predecesor, how did you mount it?

I will likely wait a few months before I take the plunge, The CA100 may be available by then.

I currently use a point and shoot to "film" in 720p (Panasonic ZS3). Here is my very first try at video editing (using Pinnacle Studio")

Mounting ? It has a standard tripod mounting point at the base. I never mounted it, though, so far.

I like the VPC although the sharpness of the picture was better with the Coolpix at 10 Mp. Or maybe it's the quality of the CCD, although I was told there are not that many makers of CCDs out there, eg. different brands are using the same CCDs. So if I can get the sharpness of the Coolpix with the new VPC CA-100 that'd be great.
