Barbara,

There isn't any delete button now... in the Oxtongue thread I see I've still posted last, no delete button visible and no way to delete that post. Maybe you could describe how you delete a post now because on my monitor something definitely seems to have changed.

I joined Instagram recently thinking I'd be browsing canoeing photos. The cupboard is a little bare. There's enough hiking on mountains photos with bad filters to make me vomit and everyone seems to be from BC.

I need to figure out how to have #esquif, #novacraft, etc show up in my feed. Is that possible?

You were able to delete a post on the 3rd.

There should be the following at the bottom right-hand corner of your post that is still the last one in a thread:

If the "x" isn't there, drop an email to admin and include a screenshot of you can.

Sorry for the off-topic chat, folks.

Instagrammers, start posting your #canoe shots!

Ha! Totally agree. Way too many mountains, way too few paddles. You have to follow accounts for the photos to show up in your feed.. You can also search under the explore tab for #canoe and find some other cool accounts to follow.
Try following @novacraftcanoe, @swiftcanoeandkayak, @canoeist_trade, @sanborncanoe, @norquayco, @abitibico, @thecompletepaddler, @paddlecanada, @explorethebackcountry (Brad Jennings), @tear_knee (me), @friendsoftemagami, @cruisingcanoes, @northernscavenger (another CCR member), @myselfreliance (also on this forum), @canadianpathfinders and you should get some suggestions for more people to follow and therefore improve your feed.

If you're not on Insta yet, check out my feed anyway and see what you're missing! https://www.instagram.com/tear_knee/

Well, I meant send an email to admin@myccr.com

Found the answer: time limit for deleting posts is 120 minutes

Uh, no, the "x" wasn't there immediately after I posted today. I'll post this and see whether the "x" is there.

...

Nope still not there... OK, I'll send another email to admin@myccr.com

I think social media has a different role than forums.
To me social media is chatter and interaction.
A forum is a searchable library of information that is available over the years.
Forums of course have rules.
Social media for the most part you make your own rules who you deal with and who you don't.

Is it me or is everyone walking and sitting becoming more hunched over?

tearknee, mine is @neilifitzpatrick. Just switched from a flip phone to one of these magic phones. Not sure if I'll ever take it on a canoe trip to start filling my Instagram with photos. We'll see...

littleredcanoe: I'm definitely looking more myopic as I struggle to read this forum on my iPhone on the bus to work, hahaha.
All of the other social media sites are also a library of information. Nothing ever disappears... There's just a whole bunch of extra trivial information to search through on Facebook. And links tend to be broken less frequently on other platforms than on a forum posting that's 7 years old. There's still a heck of a lot of chatter on a forum. I also enjoy filtering out people and information that I don't want/need to see. As soon as someone starts posting blurry drunk selfies I can unfollow them and not deal with it, whereas on a forum you still have to skim through all the irrelevant stuff to find useful information.

Neil: You don't have to post "instant" Instagrams, either. A lot of photographers use it more like a gallery of their work. Get started by posting your five favourite photos, give them meaningful tags, and see where it takes you.

I agree. The forums are not phone friendly but are laptop friendly. I rarely post on the road nor read either when I am using my phone. I might scan for topics of interest.
The problem is : who is still using a laptop?

Just bought a new MacBook Pro. My old one kicked the bucket after 7 years. I use my phone way more often. Using my phone now and my laptop is about two feet away. Sheer laziness.
