WCS 2015 will be held on 20 and 21 Feb at Monarch Park Collegiate in Toronto (same location as in 2014 and for many years previous to that).

To those contemplating a long drive to the WCA Symposium -

The Toronto Outdoor Adventure Show (trade show with guest speakers, etc) is also happening that weekend. Maybe the long drive could be justified if you spent Friday & Saturday at the symposium, and then hit the Outdoor Show at the International Centre on Sunday.

Just some food for thought...

Good, of course :) You get the best of both "worlds". OAS starts @ 11am Friday and runs all day Saturday and Sunday. WCS is Friday evening and all day Saturday. You'll be ready for anything come Monday!

Looks like a great line-up of speakers and topics.

Since I have never attended one of these before, I am unclear about the format and the likelihood of getting to sit in on the sessions I am most intersted in.

Are there sessions held on the Friday night or do they all happen on the Saturday? How many in the morning? The aft? Can I preselect the sessions I want to attend or does that just apply to lunch and dinner seating?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can get me up to speed on the format!

Everything is in the auditorium. Each session is 3 talks, at about 40 min, followed by a break. There is a minute or 2 between each speaker you want to slip out for a walk around the block. Reception downstairs on Friday night after the last talk.

Cafeteria is closed for lunch and dinner for ticket holder only.

Three slightly longer presentations Friday night, then 15 presentations in 5 sessions on Saturday.

As Cheryl said, all presentations are in the auditorium - you don't need to choose a subset of the presentations to attend.
