In email and web forums topics gradually shift over time. If the subject is "pancakes for breakfast" eventually it will work its way to "57 chevies of the rich and famous" somehow. That is thread drift. I try to keep a thread on the original topic. I don't always succeed but I do try :-) So talking about your paddle company would not have been appropriate in that other thread (in my mind at least).

So I looked at your profile to see if you had a URL in it to your company. From there I saw a link to this thread and it since it was you introducing yourself, it seemed more appropriate to me.

As someone else mentioned - it is a more subtle form of thread hijacking.
