Am trying to figure out what courses in Paddle Canada are equivalent to ORCKA Level 1A/B Canadian Style Paddling (formerly Lakewater 1), and Canoe Tripping Instructor Level 3. Is there a direct corratlation?

Anyone know of a chart or table that would show what courses you could "challenge" to move directly from one to another?

Are you planning on moving? If not, just stick with the ORCKA courses. I'm not sure what the relationship is like between ORCKA and Paddle Canada these days, but I suspect they aren't on great terms for recognizing each other's courses.

No, I wasn't, but my son has been taking courses from Instructors who are certified with both. He wants to do Canadian Style Paddling Level 1 (the old Lakewater), but we don't have $300-$800 to drop on a course with ORCKA. I have been trying to get my CTI-2, and can't get enough participants to make them run (I know I could just challenge it, but that is pricey too), so I was thinking of trying Paddle Canada, but don't want to have to work y way up through all the certs again.

Ah, now I get it. Good luck.

I gave up on the certification process several years ago. I was interested in getting to an instructor level as it would have been good for some volunteer work I was doing, but it became clear that if I wasn't making a full time career out of it then it wasn't going to happen.

The Paddle Canada Intro Lake or Intro Style should be similar to the orcka 1a/b Canadian style former lakewater.
The Paddle Canada Adv Canoe Tripping should be similar to the orcka canoe trip 3.

Look here for more information
https://www.paddlecanada.com/paddle-can ... g-program/

Connect with a local Paddle Canada Instructor to find out more, such as course fees.

No harm in inquirying. Then you can make a more informed decision.
