Whenever I buy a car, new or used, one of the first things I do is wash and then wax it to help preserve the finish. Since I just bought a Wenonah kevlar canoe, I was about to do the same to the exterior of it, but then realized that I would be using it in saltwater as well as freshwater.
2 questions:
1. Does saltwater attack the wax? (If so, no point in waxing!)
2. IF saltwater does NOT attack the wax, I am assuming that it would be unwise to also wax the interior of the canoe, even though that is what is actually exposed more to UV, as it could make the interior surfaces too slick from a safety point of view. Am I correct or not?
