Here are pictures of a pipe base, the padded pipe screwed into the pipe base which is bolted to the center of the rack, and the pipe in action with some kayaks. I strap the bows and sterns of the kayaks together so a kayak can't squirt out of the row of kayaks.

Hi Martin. We're in St Joseph, MI....just downwind from Lake Michigan where the snow does whatever it wants from October through May. We're just a bit over two hours due west of Ann Arbor so not so far from you. I remember going to a Swift Demo Day in London and trying just about every boat they make. I think you may have a canoe club in London if my bad memory is working. I've also paddled a voyageur canoe on the Detroit River with some awesome hardcore paddlers from your area.
