I am seeking info on the Sassenach Lake entry point.
On https://reservations.ontarioparks.com/backcountry/ I chose Wabakimi as my park and then saw 4 entry points on the map.
The entry point labels have little cars associated with them.
The map legend says that indicates drive in access.
Google maps (satellite view) shows a "road" coming around the north end of Valley Lake and ending at the very NE point of Sassenach Lake. (50.482015, -90.209296)
But that road could be pretty iffy I would think.

I have parked at Smye Lake in the past.
Is the Sassenach Lake parking area similar to Smye Lake, e.g. is the area graveled and maintained?
Do you have lat/long coordinates for the parking area?
I cannot see it on Google maps, but the resolution there is pretty low.
Also, do you have any info on the condition of the road to the site?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
jim

Friends of Wabakimi (FOW) maintains a growing library of information about canoe routes that lie within the Wabakimi Area. It includes maps, photos and GPS waypoints of access points leading to Wabakimi Provincial Park from both Valley and Sassenach Lakes.

FOW offers unlimited, complementary canoe trip planning and route orientation to its members. Sales of our membership fees and our Wabakimi Canoe Route Maps booklets help to fund future reconnaissance expeditions of previously unexplored canoe routes as well as maintenance and improvement of the +5,000km (+3,000 miles) of those routes already rehabilitated and documented by volunteer participants of the Wabakimi Project since 2004.

If you're interested in obtaining the canoe route information we have on hand, please contact me by e-mail or PM. Meanwhile, I encourage you to check out our website (http://www.wabakimi.org) and our Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/friendsofwabakimi).

Shannon Lawr, Superintendent of Wabakimi Provincial Park, has advised me that the access roads indicated on the map you mentioned were established by Ontario Parks to record from which Crown land area visitors who were making interior (backcountry) overnight bookings were planning to access the park and NOT to indicate the existence, number and/or condition of access points with maintained vehicle parking facilities. Shannon also expressed his hope that this map and its legend will be improved by Ontario Parks in the future.

That road is total sketch. Here's a satellite view of the GPS coordinates that you mentioned from http://www.comap.ca/

At the comap site you can zoom in even more than I zoomed in here. The map is at the bottom of the comap page. It takes a while to zoom in sometimes, but you can usually get resolution so that you can (almost) see individual trees.

The white lines in the image below generally indicate where "roads" are. But if you see only green surrounding the roads at a zoomed-in resolution like this, they are probably not there or very, very rough.
