I have been away from canoeing for a decade or more. Elderly parents precluded any tripping, and day paddles no longer appeal. I'd rather mountain bike if I'm just going out for part of a day!
However, I got the bug back this year. I think that bike packing had me realize that the canoe is still the very best way to gain access to the beauty and solitude of the Canadian Shield. Here are some of my favourite pics from the 2020 season...

It certainly looks like you did a fine job of using the canoe "to gain access to the beauty and solitude of the Canadian Shield." Impressive photographies. Well framed. Good lighting. etc. No doubt, they will serve you well to remember the trip....

Really lovely to see, since I am where you once were (parents who need 1:1 care, and spec. ed kids still at home). You give me hope!

Love the coffee and the canoe one! 2020 was and still is strange.
We did get out too but of course not to Canada.

The tent in front of the mist, with the tent lit up, evokes the feeling you get when you know it is going to be a perfect day!

Cheryl, the tent in the morning light with mist rising off the water behind is a favourite of mine too. I always enjoy learning which photos different people connect with!
