I've only paddled an O.T. Next one time, on a day trip. I kinda liked it, but it wouldn't be my choice for a tripping boat. I brought along a seat cushion (Type IV throwable ) to sit on, which I needed to be able use a canoe paddle - the seat would have been too low otherwise for my liking. I used the cushion to cushion my back when portaging the boat - it helped. might not need the extra height if you were using a double blade
