A solo tent that needs its own sherpa. Oh what fun a 34 inch wide pack would be

Heavy, yes. Bulky, yes. But versatile ! All it needs is inflatable sponsons and it will conquer the market ! 8)

Great idea, might need to combine/re-engineer it with this.....

to save some weight. Ezwater, love your thinking, wheels could drop out of the sponsons a la amphibious float plane for portaging. Think of all the weight a person could save by not having to bring a clumsy portage cart along.

Add a kitchen area and there is no need to go ashore. That might be handy in a wet area with no portages like the Everglades. Most people who dont reach their campsite simply throw a tarp over the top and sleep in the bottom of the canoe. Attachments for sea anchors would be needed too.

I dont think that you have all given the designer of this device the credit he deserves. This chair/cot/tent is much too heavy to be used for wilderness trips and was obviously intended for home usage, possibly as a spare bedroom. I am thinking of getting a few myself for those hot summer days when my guests are lounging around the pool drinking cool ones all day. When they pass out on their lounge chairs in the late evening, I would then simply set up the roofs above their heads and "instant guestrooms".

This product may be new to Costco, but Cabelas/SIR in Winnipeg has been selling them for years. For camping out of a car they would be handy. I considered getting one for my trunk to use on road-trips as it seems like it would be easy to set up, even on muddy or uneven ground, or in parking lots where tent pegs won't go.

Ever wish you could have a pop-up tent trailer while bicycle touring? This is a similar concept, but in trailer form. The same fellow also makes the highest-quality canoe trailer for bikes that I have found. http://www.tonystrailers.com/nomad/

wow! that is some cart/trailer! I was thinking it might be handy to have as a Dog House for the hubby! And hey! It has real possiblilities for Scout Camps, where there is nary a level spot to be found (usually a 15 degree slope!)
