I wonder what this governments "acceptable levels" are, considering they lack any credible environmental protection laws now.

I noticed that article..and am scared crapless. The proposed tar sands oil flows is proposed to flow through an old pipeline in our town. Our town is 51 percent underwater with eight major lakes.

It seems PAH's would not be involved here, but an oil spill would be catastrophic to our landlocked salmon.

Currently oil flows north from Portland to Montreal. The proposed use for transport of tar sands oil would reverse the flow in a 110 year old pipeline.

Environmental impacts of an activity know no political borders it seems.
