Amazing!

http://abcnews.go.com/US/north-carolina ... d=16913782

A new law in North Carolina will ban the state from basing coastal policies on the latest scientific predictions of how much the sea level will rise ...

The bill was drafted in response to an estimate by the state's Coastal Resources Commission (CRC) that the sea level will rise by 39 inches in the next century, prompting fears of costlier home insurance and accusations of anti-development alarmism among residents and developers ...

The political establishment in the American South is largely based on ignorance and religion. That's why their schools suck, and they have shorter life expectancies than most northerners.

The really sad thing is those clowns always come begging for money from the Federal Government every time Bubba's river-bottom trailer gets flooded out by some storm or some pot-bellied developer loses his sea-side investment to a hurricane.

Photo of ocean phytoplankton absorbing carbon dioxide.

Recently in the science news the amount of CO2 being soaked up by oceans has been in question, with new research showing that phytoplankton may be absorbing more CO2 as oceans warm and taking more carbon to the ocean depths with them.

'fraid to confess that I loathed chemistry.
Now that has caught up with me, as the following question will demonstrate rather convincingly.

What is the significance for frozentripper's last post for the acidification of the oceans?

Alan, I didn't enjoy those test tubes either. There is a partial answer in that recent Scientific American report... I'm also thinking whether anybody else has actually read it.

Oceans, shmoceans, Royalex canoes are about to go extinct!
