John Buchanan wrote Canoeing Manitoba's Rivers. But before he wrote that book he produces a series of pamphlets for six rivers. They were called Bucky's RiverRunner Guides and were available from the Surveys and Mapping branch of the Province of Manitoba. The guides in the series are Berens, Bloodvien, Whiteshell, Gammon, Manigotagan, and Whitemouth River.
Ever since I got his book I have been trying to find these guides. The surveys and mapping department now sells maps under the name Canada Map Sales. I have called them a few times over the years and they stated that they had not had the guides for years.
I happened to be at their store location picking up some Real Berard maps and asked about them. One of the ladies searched a file cabinet and was able to find one on the Gammon River. They gave it to me for free.
Does anyone out there have any of these guides?

Right on. The guides give grid references for rapids, falls, campsites and other interesting sights. Probably redundant with having his book and all the trip reports out there. But still a bit of cool Manitoba canoeing literature.
