It's raining here in Sudbury  but I figured I start a thread about who is coming to DF this year. Those that do not want to let the public know that they are away from home don't have to reply but can just show up. Any new comers that have questions should start new threads. DF is open to anyone 8)

I'm in for the whole trip - Sat (19th) to Sunday (27th)
Cheers
Sid

Foggy and raining here, too, just like a crappy spring day. Tomorrow should be interesting....the forecast is for windy and negative temps.

Perhaps folks with questions, and folks who are new to DF might like to read through the existing thread, and post any questions there, rather than start new threads:

I have taken my swimming lessons so I wiill join Dave's swim team.
Will be coming in Saturday to Sunday, pulling a light weight sled and wearing my big snowshoes because of all the snow. :P
Looking forward to seeing all the familiar faces and some new ones.
Will be staying Smokey's lounge where there is always a warm fire and laughter. And since Mike has learned to catch brook trout we may just have a fish fry again. :)

Well I am a go! Hoping for the entire time. (85% sure)

Wife is not so sure this time - still hasn't figured out if it's her thing or not.

Jenny is also not sure, (because of new job arrangements). But her husband Marc is ready to go (Tuesday to Sunday) and is bringing another new face, with his own Bell tent this year!

On a side note, it's gonna be another interesting year as to what kind of snow cover we'll get this year, with all the major dumpings missing our area both to the west and south of us. Not to mention all the rain we just got, that has melted quite a bit locally.

Anyway, I'm pumped and ready to go!

Andrea and myself, Saturday-Friday, although it is tempting to stay till Sunday.

I hope she will finally be able to hear "Northwest Passage" song at DF.

after all the hoopla and bluster.. I can't come.

The reason is interesting. My hubby cannot spend an extra six days for travel to Nitro Creek without seriously cutting in to canoe vacation time. He fell in love with winter camping.

So that long weekend we are going close to home for five days in Acadia National Park hot tenting and snowshoeing or skiing. Its a 2km each way sled in to the campsite so we will get some experience at the haul.

We may also take our solo canoes (and drysuits) in the ocean about 4 miles away. Bar Harbor has a population of a couple of hundred in the winter and exquisite paddling in sheltered coves.
