I have never been to Queen Elizabeth II Wetlands Provincial Park but I’d like to try camping there in the next few days or so. I’m looking for access points and parking during this time of year.

Any help is appreciated!!

Sam

Pretty sure all provincial parks are closed including QE2. You might want to give a call to the department and ask. Devils Lake is an access point just south of Minden off of 35 if my memory serves me correctly. The ice conditions might be deteriorating fast so hopefully some locals can give you better information. Quite a few ice fisherman frequent that lake. If you don’t see fisherman than it’s probably a good idea to stay off.

I think the closure only applies to operating parks, to protect staff and visitors who might share facilities like washrooms. QE2W has neither so it can be treated like any other natural place in my opinion....so you ought to enjoy it.

Explore the Backcountry publishes a free online map for the park here:

I parked at Devil's Lake and camped on Sheldon two or three years ago around this time of year. Boot went through the ice along shore so be wary if you decide to go.

I think another reason the parks are closing is that someone could go into the back-country infected, but not showing symptoms and then get hit by symptoms while they are in the park, making it difficult for them to care for themselves. I went to QEW II 4 times this year, most recently 3 weeks ago, to Sheldon Lake, followed snowmobile trails over Devil's lake then followed the portage trail into Sheldon. Devil's lake access point.

I messaged QE2W and they said they are included in the closures.
