Hey all MYCCR's,
Whether you've been to this Symposium before or are a first timer, it's well worth it.. Dave always has a great and inclusive line-up of speakers and goes above and beyond to get great sponsors and retailers with new and trusted gear for you to look at and purchase. Also, there are always great raffle prizes.. I know first hand, I won a nice paddle... based on recent the OBCS FB posts the tickets are going quickly, so get one or two for you and your paddling partner, or bring the whole family... check out their FB page under Ontario Backcountry Canoe Symposium.. the hard water will be gone sooner than you think and this is a great way to prime your pump for a summer of backcountry canoe adventures...
Cheers,

My first time attending an event like this and I had a great time!

awesome time yesterday - well worth the price of admission.
Kate Barrett was a first time speaker and wow - she had everyone captivated with her 50 day trip (with teens). Short videos link here
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jz0cdzRrxRE

Still Wow.

Camping family Marion Sonntag had her stories of Killarney withe family and some funny clips to go with it.
Other speakers were Jeremy Shute( who I realized padded right past my neighbourhood and in the same water of Lake Erie / Niagara river I sometimes paddle), PJ Justason (has a link here on myccr to the canoe route - impressive!!) and Doug Gordon all had interesting takes on their adventures - and of course vendors to drain your wallet some more...it's only money right?

Kevin Callan was of course well, Kevin Callan and Andy Baxter was there to provide the 'truth' versions about the Meanest Link series.
Special thanks To David Bain for putting on another fantastic event.
