Here I go again!
In my ongoing quest to advance the cause of canoe poling's return as a mainstream skill in the recreational canoeing community, I have launched a YouTube channel called "Canoepoler" (the same name as my instagram feed) . Again I would like to say that my only motivation is to raise the profile of this skill, which was historically taken for granted as part of canoe travel (as can be seen if you check any canoeing manual that was published before the mid 1970's, the Path of the Paddle - the book and the solo moving water video by Bill Mason, of the same era - yup, check it out on NFB of Canada site, oh, and even Waterwalker... one must invoke Mason to be taken seriously on this subject).
So please, check out these first four short videos that are on the channel and comment as you wish and subscribe to the channel to help raise the awareness of poling. There is much more to follow as I get editing.
Here is a nice little offering, IMHO... but decide for yourself.

Thank you all.

Nice!!! Thanks for sharing. Reminds me of the fishing guides I seen many years ago on the Cascapedia. An art form.

Reading two of Adam Shoalts' books over the holidays had me very curious about this technique. He used it for hundreds of kilometers of wilderness travel on large rivers, traveling upstream where others wouldn't even consider it possible. Thanks for sharing!

I think that Adam Shoalt's new book is going to help this cause a lot.
... Oh, and tell all of your friends, share and subscribe, all!
