Post subject:  Late season rivers?

Hi all, my group did the Dumoine in early June and loved it but since not everyone could come we're thinking of doing another trip later in the summer.

Which rivers are known for being runnable later in the season, or do they all slow down/dry up too much to paddle late in the season? Quebec/Ontario within 6 hours of Montreal is preferred.

If it's a constant rock garden/drag we're not really interested and would just go back to flat water at that point.

Thanks!

The upper Petawawa still seems to have good flow at this time if the online gauge at the town of Petawawa is an indicator of upstream flow. Today's flow is 47 cms which according to Boatwerks is "ideal" and maybe "significantly harder at flows above 40 cms, with more of a bigwater feel".

West of Thunder bay is still good many with spring levels.
But that is out of your driving range. (but good to know for others)
I also heard the Pet is still good through the park.
Blackfeather just finished a trip I saw posted, they might help you out with some intel.
Agawa, Batchawanna are very low.

I would look at the Lievre. It's a fun run even when it's low.

Lievre, Bazin, Gatineau, Batiscan, Coulonge.....sure there are more....with a longer drive you could do the Pontax or Broadback

Timing is everything. In the western US only the really big rivers are usually still runnable by late summer except for some on the Coast.
