There are already many people sharing the skills part, so I share something else. I took two solo courses at MKC couple years ago with Gail Shield (my first solo ww canoe lesson) and later I took another solo canoe course at MKC. I also personally knew a canoe instructor who taught me free for a few times last year. I used to go to Minden to paddle for a day since there are many good paddlers there. I got to know some new people there. But I moved away last September to a small city, so I need to find new canoe friends! I found taking lessons are very helpful for my skill development and confidence. I paddle Echoee, and it's the same model of Ocoee, but Echoee is much lighter. I am a very small person (5'2"), so Echoee is light and great for me. Love it! |

Nothing to apologize for, we are all on the same team. I am somewhere between outings number 15 and 20 now. soleiyc where are you? I have found that the Elora Gorge in summer time has a few spots that are really good for drills, with S-turns in either direction and a variety of different rapids. |

Hey Matt - i also picked up a (used) Ocoee earlier this year and always looking to get out and people to paddle with. Had it on the Middle Mad with MKC, Elora and a couple other times. I'm in Toronto - Send me a message and we can connect. Jo Lieberman |
